Things heating up this week in Columbus area
Temps will not be as cool overnight, with partly cloudy skies, and temps falling into the middle 50s. The Columbus area is expected to see temperatures rise above normal throughout the week, with temperatures expected to reach the mid-80s and upper 90s. This will be followed by a cold front moving through the area on Thursday night, with a chance of showers and possibly an isolated storm. The weekend will be fairly seasonal with sunny skies and temperatures reaching near 90s, tying the yearly high of 90s on Sunday with the hottest air of the year expected. As the high shifts east, temperatures will remain above normal, but drop a bit into the lower 90s with more humidity. There are also potential afternoon pop-up storms starting on Tuesday.

It has been a beautiful day today after a cool start this morning with most of us in the 40s. We will see another crisp night tonight. Temps will not be as cool overnight, with partly cloudy skies, and temps falling into the middle 50s. Wednesday will see temps warming back above normal with mostly sunny skies and highs in the middle 80s.
Thursday, expect a hotter day with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 with mostly sunny skies. Thursday night into Friday morning a cold front will zip through our area, with a chance of some showers, maybe an isolated storm. Temps will remain in the mid to upper 60s to start Friday, but temps will be a bit cooler, but still above normal in the middle 80s.
The weekend will start off fairly seasonal on Saturday, with sunny skies, and highs near normal in the lower 80s. The heat is on starting on Sunday with the hottest air of the year on the way. Temps will tie the yearly high Sunday very close to 90, and will push into the low to mid 90s on Monday with sunny skies. Tuesday as the high shifts east, the heat will remain, but will drop a bit into the lower 90s, with more humidity.
This will set us up with upper 90s to near 100 degree heat index values early next week, and with the high shifting off to the east, possible afternoon pop-up storms starting on Tuesday.
