COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - A man is accused of stabbing his mother and breaking her jaw in Columbus, Mississippi.
According to Columbus police, the incident happened around 3:10 a.m. on Thursday in the 1500 block of Third Avenue North.
Ricky Sanders allegedly attacked his mother, stole her purse and left in her SUV. Law enforcement arrested Sanders in Fayette County, Alabama.
The mother suffered multiple stab wounds, a broken jaw and bleeding to her brain, according to Columbus police.
She was airlifted to a hospital in Jackson. Her condition is unknown at this time.
