Columbus, Ga (WRBL)- Tracking a HOT forecast for the rest of this week and this weekend. Today’s readings warmed into the upper 80s/ lower 90s, near average for this time of year. Over the next few days, we will continue this warming trend, each day warmer than the next.

We are watching a tropical disturbance currently in the Gulf of Mexico that is also bringing the threat of flooding to many areas in Florida. Our cold front from Monday will help to keep that disturbance off to our south, however we can’t rule out a few sporadic showers Wednesday afternoon.

We remain hot and sunny until the weekend as temperatures reach into the upper 90s by Friday. Many areas will likely see the century mark this weekend, and with humidity creeping back into the forecast, it will feel hotter than it actually is.

Father’s Day is looking slightly cooler, but we will be watching for a few sporadic showers that afternoon. Rain chances remain low for now, but we will see better chances later next week with another system. Temperatures will also continue to cool back into the lower 90s/upper 80s by next Tuesday.
