The Penguins defeated Columbus 4-2, with the help of a motivated player from the power play, led by Evander Malkin who scored twice in the game. Both goals were both on the power plays, marking his first power play goals in 38 games. Sidney Crosby also contributed two assists, giving him 1,580 career points, moving him up to 11th place on the NHL's all-time scoring list. The game was played at PPG Paints Arena and will be the second game of their home-and-away series in Columbus.

Malkin’s two goals were both on the power play, his first power play goals in 38 games. Coach Mike Sullivan was happy to see Malkin step up in the clutch.

Sidney Crosby had two assists, giving him 1,580 career points as he passed Hall of Fame defenseman Ray Bourque for 11th place on the NHL’s all-time scoring list.

The Pens and Blue Jackets play the second game of their home-and-away series tomorrow night in Columbus.
