Track & Field Meet: East Bladen Boys & Girls Are 4th -

BURGAW– East Bladen scored well in the sprints and relays Tuesday to finish 4th in both the boys’ and girls’ meets at the 3rd Waccamaw Conference track & East Bladen finished 4th in both the boys’ and girls’ meets at the 3rd Waccamaw Conference track & field meet at Pender High. The girls also performed well in the hurdles, while the boys won the discus. The East Bladen boys, who scored 87 points, placed 4th behind Heide Trask, Whiteville, Pender, and Whiteville. The winning events for the Eagle boys were the 200 meters, 400 meters, and Jaden Pridgen's discus, with the 4×400 meter relay team also winning. In the girls' events, both the 4x100 meter and 4x200 meter relay teams won their events.

BURGAW– East Bladen scored well in the sprints and relays Tuesday to finish 4th in both the boys’ and girls’ meets at the 3rd Waccamaw Conference track & field meet of the season at Pender High. The girls also did well in the hurdles, while the boys won the discus.

The Eagle boys tallied 87 points to place 4th behind Heide Trask (148.5), Whiteville (139) and Pender (112.5) and ahead of South Columbus (74) and West Columbus was 6th with 58 points.

Whiteville won the girls meet with 166 points followed by Heide Trask (157), Pender (93), East Bladen (87), West Columbus (48) and South Columbus (18).

Winning events for the Eagle boys were juniors Chace Butler in the 200 meters and Dominick Collins in the 400 meters and senior Jaden Pridgen in the discus. The East Bladen 4×400 meter relay team (Collins, Dashon Campbell, Kaden McKoy, Keyshawn Kemp and Xavier Potts) also won.

Butler finished 2nd in the 100 meters, and the 4×100 meter relay team (Butler, Matthew Kemp, Tevin McLean, Masion Brooks, and Jayden Dailey) posted a 2nd place finish.

In the girls meet, both the 4×100 meter (Trinity Kemp, Nyasia Banks, Zahreonna Baldwin, Ariel Cromartie and Laila Smith) and the 4×200 meter relay teams (Kemp, Baldwin, Banks, Cromartie and Smith) won their events.

Layla Lent won the 300-meter hurdles, and Laila Smith won the 100-meter hurdles
