Ohio State’s next opponent has a weapon that should’ve been a Buckeye
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State will face USC in the two programs’ first-ever game as Big Ten opponents. Ohio State is set to play against USC in the first time as Big Ten opponents, marking the first game between the two teams. The game is a chance for the Buckeyes to advance to the Big Ten Championship Game, while USC is looking to keep its postseason hopes alive. The Trojans, who have signed a 2026 class ranked as the nation's best, are expected to challenge Ohio State's current starting quarterback, Julian Sayin, who is returning from a season-ending injury to his throwing arm and will be competing with Jayden Maiava, who has thrown for a Big Ten-best 2,302 yards and 19 touchdowns while completing 66.8% of his passes. Other notable players include Trent Mosley, Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, Christian Pearce, and Christian Pearce. Despite losing the battle for five-star defensive end Luke Waffle, Ohio State lost the recruiting battle to South Florida.
