One more day of showers & cold temps for Columbus area

We will see mostly cloudy skies by the start of the day on Friday with wind chill temps in the mid to upper 20s. The Columbus area has been a day of rain showers and cold temperatures, with temperatures dropping into the lower 40s and falling into the middle 30s overnight. The upper level low will move east of our area on Friday, leading to a potentially another round of light rain showers, mixed with some flurries/sleet/graupel mixed in, and temperatures will remain below 40s. Much of the area is under a freeze watch for the weekend, with temps expected to reach the lower 50s on Saturday and Sunday. Despite this, much of the entire area is expected to see temperatures fall into the mid to upper 20s on wind chill temps. The next wave of showers is expected for next Tuesday with highs near 70. There is also a chance of showers on Wednesday with a front nearby and highs again near 70 due to an approaching weather system.

It has been another fairly nasty day today with rain showers, and a light wintry mix at times. Temps did tip near 50 early this afternoon but have quickly dropped back into the lower 40s and will continue to fall into the middle 30s overnight. We will see mostly cloudy skies by the start of the day on Friday with wind chill temps in the mid to upper 20s.

Friday, the upper level low will slowly move off to the east of our area. This means we will have another round of light rain showers possible during the mid morning to afternoon hours, with some flurries/sleet/graupel mixed in again, with highs in the mid 40s. Skies will slowly clear with light winds Saturday morning. This means a frosty start to the day.

In fact, Saturday morning, much of our area is under a freeze watch to start the weekend off. With slow clearing on Saturday, temps will top in the lower 50s. We will have another frosty start on Sunday with more sunshine expected, temps will top in the upper 50s. Sunday overnight into early Monday we will have rain showers with a warm front lifting north.

This will give us temps back in the upper 60s on Monday with a mix of clouds for the day for the Eclipse on Monday. Isolated showers will approach our area for next Tuesday with highs up near 70. A chance of showers will remain on Wednesday with a front nearby and highs again near 70. With an approaching weather system from the southwest, storms will be possible by late week on Friday with highs in the middle 60s.
