COLUMBUS, Ohio — Logan Porter’s home run gave the Storm Chasers a doubleheader split with Columbus on Thursday night.

The Clippers won the opener 3-0 before the Omaha catcher’s two-run shot gave the Chasers a 5-4 win in the nightcap.

Both games were seven innings, and Omaha led the second game 3-1 before Micah Pries’ two-run triple in the sixth put the Clippers in front 4-3.

In the seventh, Nick Pratto led off with a walk. After two strikeouts, Porter hit a 1-0 pitch over the left-center fence for his first home run this season.

Will Klein pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh for the save.

In the opener, Omaha didn’t have a runner reach second base before putting together its best scoring threat in the sixth inning. The Chasers had runners at second and third with one out when Drew Waters struck out. After a walk loaded the bases, Pratto flew out to end the threat.
