COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A unique opportunity for Mother’s Day bonding will be available in Columbus this year. The Historic Linwood Foundation announced this week it will host a special “Linwood Ladies Tour” through Linwood Cemetery on May 11.

“While strolling through the cemetery, you’ll hear about some tearoom ladies, one of the oldest graves in Linwood, a lady of the night, a cemetery researcher, an African American and others,” representatives of the Historic Linwood Foundation stated.

The tour is set to begin no later than 10 a.m. on May 11 and will last about an hour. Tour-takers will be divided into small groups led by guides. Golf cart use is not permitted for the tour.

Historic Lindwood Foundation representatives advised eventgoers to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water for the event, which costs $5 per person at the door.

Tour-takers are asked to meet at the Lummus Chapel and park on the grass outside the chapel or “anywhere in the cemetery that doesn’t block traffic flow.”

For more information about this tour, call (706) 321-8285. If there is rain on the day of the tour, it will be cancelled.
