Driver dies, two injured after SUV leaves road, hits pole on South Side
The crash happened just before midnight Oct. 26 on Fairwood Avenue near Marion Drive. The driver died, and two passengers were injured. A driver died after an SUV veered off the road, across a field and into a utility pole on Columbus' South Side. The Nissan Rogue was driving south on Fairwood Avenue near Marion Drive when it veered across the centerline and left the road. The driver was transported to the OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in critical condition, where he died at 12:33 a.m. Two adult passengers were also taken to the hospital in stable condition. The police accident investigation unit is investigating the cause of the accident.
